AMHA to Take on S-E Youths

Ideal Club Tera beat Posterior to win women’s tourney

Imphal, Jan 18: All Moirang Hockey Association will take on South Eastern Youth Organisation in the final of the 1st State-level (under-14) Boys’ Hockey Tournament organised by Manipur Hockey at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium here on Wednesday.
In the Women’s Open Hockey Tournament, Ideal Club Tera lifted the title, defeating Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur.

The match was played on a double leg basis. Ideal Club held to a 1-1 draw in the first match, defeated their opponents by 7-2 goals in the second one to win the title on Saturday.

In the boys’ semi-finals today, South Eastern Youth Organisation came up with a 4-3 win against Khongman Students Club and All Moirang Hockey Association blanked Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur 4-0.
Khongman boys outwitted their taller rivals and N. Maipaksana Singh scored in the 20th minute.

In the second half, South Eastern captain A. Sanjoy scored a hattrick. Before him, Ch. Tondonba Singh scored the equaliser from a field goal in the 27th minute.

Sanjoy fired home the lead in the 29th minute from a penalty corner and quickfired two more goals in the 31st and 35th minutes to help his team take a 4-1 lead.

N. Maipaksana fetched Khongman’s second goal in the 45th minute. The third goal was scored by L. Nilamani Singh from a field goal in the 48th minute.

In the other semi-final, Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur had no answer to All Moirang Hockey Association’s stickwork. K. Bungo Singh scored a brace. H. Surikumar Singh and Th. Bidyakumar Singh scored a goal each for the Moirang team.
