According to official sources, the government is hoping for a breakthrough with the outfit, which had been a source of constant terror in North Cachar Hills district for the past few years.
The Assam Government had several round of talks till now on how best to meet the group's demands.
Leaders of the Jewel Group of Dima Halam Daogah had held talks with the Centre’s interlocutor, Mr P.C. Haldar, last month at Haflong, the district headquarters of North Cachar Hill District.
The outfit’s main demand is renaming of North Cachar Hills as Dima Hasao Raji, which other communities in the district are opposed to.
