Aizawl, Feb 12 : The opposition Mizo National Front today announced five names as 'official nominees' to contest the organisational election scheduled to be held during the last part of next week.
Former two-term chief minister Zoramthanga is the official candidate for the president of the party while former home minister and party vice-president Tawnluia is nominated for the newly-created post of senior vice-president.
Former ministers - Dr R Lalthangliana and R Tlanghmingthanga (present Treasurer) were in the fray to contest the two vice-president posts and former Lok Sabha member Vanlalzawma is the official nominee to contest the post of Treasurer.
The official nominees were elected through secret ballots by members of the National Executive Council here yesterday.
