Nagaland: Flying Over The Lush Green Hills

kohima helicopter Kohima, Feb 9 : Good news for visitors going into the interiors of Nagaland: a helicopter service, a long-felt need, has been finally introduced to fly people into the outlying districts.

While Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio became the first passenger to board the maiden sortie from Dimapur to Kohima on the twin-engine six-seater chopper, passengers will now get double benefit from the service. One, it will save a lot of time, as one will not have to take winding roads through the rugged hills.

Two, it will be a wonderful experience flying over the lush green hills that are part of the Patkai range.

Helicopter service is, in fact, a popular, though costly, mode of transport in the region, with Arunachal Pradesh making the maximum use of it.
