Imphal, Feb 8 : Former ‘supercop’ H T Sangliana is ushering in winds of change in the National Commission for Minorities (NCM).
A month into his new assignment as the NCM vice-chairperson, the former MP is pushing through some changes in an otherwise lethargic panel.
Members of the commission, including Sangliana, have been assigned charge of specific states and communities and in corporate style, tasks have been specified for each member and also a feedback assessment.
The overhauling of the NCM by an assertive Sangliana, who quit the BJP and joined the Congress in 2008 after he voted for the UPA in the trust vote over the nuclear-deal, however, has not gone down well with some of the bureaucrats.
