Shillong, Jun 16 : A giant screen projector has been set up in Shillong City to give the soccer fans a feel of the action of the World Cup soccer games.
People from different areas gathered at an open field to cheer and support their favorite countries.

"The World Cup is a little bigger... like you see the Indian Premier League... the people of Shillong go to see every game... so the World Cup, you see, is a universal game and people of Shillong love the game, that's why we are seeing the game."

India has never come close to qualifying for the World Cup, but that does not seem to have dampened fans' enthusiasm for the month-long tournament.
The event will see 32 countries fighting it out for the title of world champions.
