Dimapur Naga Students' Union Condemns illegal Activities

dimapur-nagalandKohima, Dec 13 : Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU), a powerful students' body of Dimapur, has expressed 'deep shock' over the arrest of its speaker in connection with an abduction case and appreciated the police for cracking down criminal activities in Dimapur town.

In a release here today, DNSU president Medovoi Medeo and general secretary Mhachio Lotha have condemned all illegal activities in Dimapur town and assured all sections of the society and the student community in particular not to lose faith in the Union.

It said criminals, irrespective of post or designation if any member found involved in any illegal activities would not be allowed to tarnish the name of the Union and necessary action would be taken as per provision of the constitution of the Union.

It may be mentioned here that the Speaker of the DNSU, Tokato Achumi, was arrested by Dimapur Police on Saturday last in connection with abduction of two businessmen from Jorhat of Assam and taking a ransom of Rs 15 Lakh along with two NSCN (K) cadres.
