Aizawl, Apr 26 : The Mizoram government, which has spent 28 months in office and has a little more than three years to go, has fulfilled more than 50 per cent of its promise.
In the seventh edition of Mizoram Watch programme, organised by civic organisation Prism here today, it was highlighted that the Congress ministry, which has spent nearly half of the five-year term, has achieved more than half of its 165-point of its election manifesto.
Even though a booklet released by Prism prior to the Mizoram Watch programme, claimed that 32 of the 165 points had been fulfilled, the Congress party workers, who represented the party at the programme, had a different version to share.
According to Congress representatives, the government has fulfilled 44 points of the manifesto and is working on another 121 points.
They alleged that the information given in the booklet was not cent per cent accurate as a number of points were remarked as 'unfilled' due to Prism’s failure to obtain information under the RTI Act.
Prism also admitted that they could not get some information they had sought for. The Congress representatives blamed this on the negligence on the part of concerned SPIOs.
Also, Prism had approached wrong departments while seeking some information, resulting in no answer.
''Instead of approaching the right department for the same information, they (Prism) just remarked them as ‘unfulfilled’, a Congress worker said.
