589 Mizoram Villages Provided With Drinking Water

Aizawl, May 24
: Altogether 589 villages in Mizoram out of a total number of 777 have been provided with drinking water under Rural Water Supply Scheme, officials sources said.

With this, a person would get an average of 40 litres of water per day in these villages, they said. Efforts are on to supply water to the remaining 188 villages along with a few town areas, they said.

While 3210 toilets have been constructed for schools and 912 toilets for anganwadis, 1083 schools have water filters.
